Growing Up African is an original comedy comic inspired by my viral iJournal online comic and animated series, which has gained over 6 million views across social media platforms. Authored and illustrated by me, the work captures funny, highly relatable moments of everyday life through a distinctly cultural lens.

Blending humour, expressive character design, and slice-of-life storytelling, the comic transforms familiar experiences into memorable visual narratives that resonate deeply with audiences. The printed edition expands the world of the digital series into a long-form comic format, showcasing my ability to build original IP across both digital and print mediums.
As both writer and illustrator, this project reflects my practice in character-led storytelling, comedic world-building, and audience-driven creative publishing.
